Reviews:
'A very clever pas de deux about the close friendship between Rabbit and Elephant, that is what Flemish children's book creator Jan de Kinder gives us in 'Elephant upside down.' Colorful, full of movement and mounting maneuvers by Rabbit, who wants to offer comfort to a sad Elephant who is upside down and hiding under a pile of branches.' (Dirk Leyman, De Morgen, December 2022)
'In the moving Elephant Upside Down, Jan De Kinder brings a recognizable story of grief and comfort. [...] Whereas De Kinder was previously known primarily for his graphic talent and insight, with Elephant Upside Down he once again shows that he is not inferior textually either. Without too much text, he succeeds in striking the right chords with short sentences. [...] 'Elephant U pside Down is a disarming book with detailed, rich prints and a warm story about grief and the power of friendship. The characters are beautifully developed and the emotions definitely palpable. A book for the top shelf.' (Debbie L'homme, reading guide, 2023)
